Kisuwi Lessons
Lesson 2 - Writing
Introduction
Kisuwi is wrriten using a script where every letter represents 1 syllable (except for 2 special letters, called group 2 letters), and there are 30 letters. However, some characters can be broken down into components which can help you read the character, so you only really need to memorize 9 basic character shapes.
Basics
This chart shows the basic character shapes mentioned above. To write syllables ending with "i" (not "ai"), use the group 1 characters by themselves. To write syllables that don't end with "i" (not "ai"), write the group 1 letter smaller and then follow 1 of these 3 rules.
1: If the syllable ends with "u", add the character for "w" around it so that the smaller character is inside it.
2: If the syllable ends with "a", add the character for "k" around it so that the smaller character is inside it.
3: If the syllable ends with "ai", add the character for "s" around it si that the smaller character is inside it.
Group 2 Letters
If a syllable ends with "n", write the syllable as if it didn't have "n" at the end, then add "n". If a syllable starts with a vowel, write the character "rmv", and then write the syllable as if it had a "k" (or any group 1 consonant) before it.
